Osaka is the best place to live in Japan. It’s close to Kyoto, Okayama, not too far from Hiroshima, and just a bullet train away from Tokyo and Fukuoka. Osaka is central, cheap, has the best food and funniest locals.
I’m an Australian living in Osaka. I have 4 bicycles, a heated coffee table, and a bathroom that looks like it should be on an airplane. I’ve been here so long that my apartment is starting to feel spacious (it’s not). I now wash my garbage, nod a lot when talking on the phone, and am still surprised when it rains every other day. One day, I hope to carry an umbrella in my bag at all times.
